Birds Of Prey E La Fantasmagorica Rinascita Di Harley Quinn , film diretto da Cathy Yan, è ambientato quattro anni dopo gli eventi accaduti in Suicide Squad. Conclusa la storia col suo amato Joker, Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) cerca di rialzarsi e superare la rottura - come farebbe ogni donna - ma a modo suo: ovvero annegando i dispiaceri in cibo spazzatura e cercando qualche brivido scoppiettante. Una volta messo un cerotto sul cuore spezzato, la folle antieroina si ritrova a Gotham per la prima volta sola e, non più asservita al suo Mister J, scopre l'indipendenza. Purtroppo, però, il suo passato sentimentale le ha procurato non pochi nemici e la nuova Harley è perseguitata da un sacco di gente che vuole farla fuori; primo tra tutti il temibile re del crimine, Black Mask (Ewan McGregor).
Mentre cerca di restare tutta intera, l'ex fidanzata di Joker incontra altre tre supereroine, sono: Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), il cui vero nome è Dinah Lance, dotata di un potente urlo ultrasonico; Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), ovvero Helena Bertinelli, un'eccellente combattente discendente da una famiglia mafiosa italoamericana; infine, l'agente di polizia Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez). Una cosa accomuna tutte queste donne apparentemente diverse: Black Mask dà la caccia a ognuna di loro. Ed è ecco che Harley Quinn ha una delle sue fantasmagoriche idee: perché non fare squadra tutte insieme e sconfiggere il cattivone?
Nonostante il resto della ciurma sia in disaccordo, quando anche la vita della giovanissima Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) viene minacciata dal re del crimine, le tre donne decidono di unirsi ad Harley. Nascono così le Birds of Prey, un team di vigilanti tutto al femminile, che sembra essere anche un'ottima cura post rottura per la Quinn che ha perso il suo King J.
Riusciranno queste combattenti guidate da un "Arlecchino" a sconfiggere il perfido Black Mask?
