Big Eyes è un film del 2014 diretto da Tim Burton. Margaret Ulbrich (Amy Adams) è una donna forte e anticonvenzionale, che non ha paura di sfidare le regole della società degli anni Sessanta, lasciando suo marito per trasferirsi a San Francisco con sua figlia Jane. La donna viene ospitata dall'amica Dee-Ann (Krysten Ritter) e si mette in cerca di un lavoro, sfruttando il suo innato talento per il disegno e la pittura. Le opere di Margaret attirano l'attenzione di Walter Keane (Christoph Waltz), affascinato dal suo estro artistico e dalla sua personalità. I due iniziano a frequentarsi e Walter si mostra sempre più interessato alle scelte stilistiche della pittrice, che raffigura tutti i personaggi dei suoi quadri con degli occhi giganteschi. Quando il padre di Jane chiede la custodia esclusiva della bambina, facendo leva sul fatto che Margaret sia una donna single con una minore a carico, Walter propone alla pittrice di sposarsi. Nonostante i sospetti di Dee-Ann, Margaret accetta l'offerta. Ben presto le differenze caratteriali e le bugie dell'uomo metteranno in pericolo la stabilità della coppia. Walter, nel frattempo, inizia ad avanzare pretese sulle opere della moglie e si presenta al giornalista Dick Nolan (Danny Huston) come il creatore dei quadri...
